Removing the instrument cluster trim in a Ford Mustang

While cleaning my Ford Mustang, I noticed a lot of dust had accumulated around the instrument cluster that I couldn’t reach with a regular wipe-down. I discovered how easy it is to remove the trim on 2005-2008 V6 models. First, tilt the steering wheel all the way down to create clearance. The trim is held in place by clips, so you just pull on both sides and wiggle it out gently. With the door open for extra clearance, the whole piece slides right out. Now you have access to clean all those dusty nooks and crannies that accumulate grime over the years. As a bonus, removing this trim also exposes the four screws that hold the instrument cluster itself in place, so if you ever need to pull the cluster for repairs or LED upgrades, you’re already halfway there.
